"Electronic music for the electronic generation"

Oppenheimer Analysis is Andy Oppenheimer and Martin Lloyd. In 1982 they recorded twelve songs, released on the 'New Mexico' cassette compilation. During the next two years they played a series of gigs in London and Brighton. Copies of the cassettes were sold at shows and by mail order.

In 2008 their songs are still played at clubs and on the radio. Andy and Martin are now recording again, and hope that their new music will soon be coming to a dancefloor or a station near you.

This website contains news, biographical details, a visual archive, samples of their music and links to other electronic music resources. Andy and Martin would be very interested to hear from you through their contact page.

A twelve-inch four-track EP of early material, including "Cold War" and "The Devil's Dancers", was the first release on the New York-based Minimal Wave label. This has been available via the label's website since 7 December 2005, where it has now sold out. Copies may still be obtainable at Clone Records and Vulcanoid. A second edition of 500 numbered copies has been re-pressed and will be available from Minimal Wave from October 2007.

A CD-R collection of the remaining 1982 recordings, "Songs from the Atomic Age", and a CD-R EP of new songs, "Der Weissenschaftler", are available from Andy and Martin at Los Alamos Records. See the news and discography pages for further details.

The club mix of the recent track "Under Surveillance" is included on the compilation CD The Finest Underground Tunes Vol.1 issued by Dancefloor Tragedy

On Friday 24 March 2006 Andy and Martin performed live as Oppenheimer Analysis for the first time in 22 years. They played at the Neon-Welt Systems of Romance party at Zwischenfall, Bochum, near Dortmund in Germany - a John Foxx-Ultravox night, hosted by DJ Plastikmann. For photos of the event, see the Neon-Welt website.

On Saturday 22 April 2006  Oppenheimer Analysis played live for the second time in over 20 years at  Weird Science, IM Loch Ness, Wiesloch, Germany. This was a special evening to celebrate DJ Mike's birthday. DJ Aime le Chevalier from Belgium also took part, and amazed us with his depth of knowledge of 80s music and his technical prowess. Thanks to DJ Plastikmann for his photos - these will soon be available on this website. Raymond Kriha of Gothsick.de has also provided a link to his photos of the evening.

A three-page interview with Oppenheimer Analysis is included in an issue of Black magazine, number 43, published in Germany on 21 April 2006. The interview was carried out by Michael Wehmeier (aka Plastikmann), and contains much detailed information concerning Andy and Martin's musical influences and ideas.

The new track "Science" is included on the 10" vinyl compilation "Hamburg Hit News 2006" released in July 2006 by NLW. The first edition comprises 300 copies in grey-marbled vinyl with a multi-coloured sleeve.

Andy and Martin played their third gig of 2006 on 14 October, at OJC Kompas, Sint-Niklaas, Belgium. Also appearing at this Minimal Synth night were Twilight Ritual, Martial Canterel, DJ Cerrone and DJ Aime le Chevalier. See our news page for more details.

"The Devil's Dancers" appears on the cd compilation "Clone Classic Cuts", an accompanying  limited promo mix cd and a related vinyl 12" EP, all released by Clone Records in late February 2008. See the news page for further details.

Andy and Martin will be playing live twice during September 2008 - at Neon Welt, Zwischenfall in Bochum on Saturday 13th September, and at Synthetic, Cavendish Arms, Stockwell in London on Thursday 25 September. Copies of the Atomic Age and Wissenschafltler cd-r's will be available for sale.

At Synthetic, Andy and Martin will be giving away twenty copies of a limited cd-r single containing two recent recordings, Washington and One Minute To Midnight.

They will also be performing at Brave Exhibitions at The Macbeth in Shoreditch on Wednesday 8 October - see the news page for details.
